Our Story

Enigma Entertainment Group LLC began in 2018 as Enigma Entertainment Productions, a small banner created for our son, writer–director Nathan Hewitt, upon his graduation from LA Film School to produce his original films and music.

Nathan's first commercial-quality short film, reTribution, was completed in 2022. In March 2023, days after the film won Best Nebraska Short Narrative at its premiere at the Omaha Film Festival, Nathan died in a tragic accident.

After time to grieve and reflect, we were approached by 7 Palms Entertainment LLC with a distribution agreement for reTribution. Encouraged by that opportunity and by outreach from many of Nathan's former collaborators, we chose to formalize Enigma Entertainment Group LLC and continue developing Nathan's remaining stories while also supporting other independent creatives.

Today, Enigma exists both to honour Nathan's legacy and to champion new, original storytelling in independent film.

Scott oversees the business, legal, and partnership side of Enigma, working closely with collaborators and distributors to expand the reach of Nathan’s work.
